Tarrant County is home to five Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) areas: Azle, Fort Worth, Haslet, Kennedale and Mansfield.

An ETJ is an area outside of a city's limits where the city is allowed to require subdivisions to meet minimum city requirements.
